The services creatr.cc, templatr.cc, timashr.com, thememaker.cc and a few more of my services have been on line now for more or less 2 years and can be used by anyone free of charge. The oldest service, counter-service.de has even been up and running for almost 10 years now. Whenever i find the time and it`s possible, new features are added and faults removed.

Nevertheless very popular

All services, especially the Logo Generator and Template Generator are very popular with users and webmaster alike. Hardly a day passes without a new article being posted containing links and tips to my services online. I was surprised that even the Background Generator, which i have not been able to develop further and promote has been found, linked and used, and has been given a positive mention in varioust blogs.

I have not got the time

Unfortunatly i have not got as much time to take care of my “Babies” as i would like to, never mind having the time to realise new ideas i have on ” Online Generators “, Like most people on earth i have to earn my daily living so i can keep up with my bills.( And of course pay the bills that run up for these services.)

I have tried everything already

I have tried quiet a lot to cover the extra costs, like including advertisement. Unfortunatly it is not as easy as you may think. Advertising doesnt even cover the cost of one of my services. Maybe i could compensate this through more adverts, but i am trying to avoid advertismet all together. Which is better for all of you.

Hopeless situation!? Maybe not!?

The whole situation seemed hopeless, and therefore i’ve been having discusions on how it will be possible to continue offering a free service and developing more. Whereby they should not be drowned by adverts. If at all possible there should be no adverts at all. The use of the services should be kept free of charge in future too.

With Sponsor and win all who wish can donate something and help support the services.

With these donations it should be possible to carry on developing and offering the services for free.

Like this, the services stay available for the user and new and better services will be added free of charge and advertisement free.

How exactly does it work?

Behind Sponsor and win is a pixel page. Here you can upload a picure file according to the size of the image and buy Pixels. The Image will then be displayed on the page with all the other sponsors. For each spot a title and internet adress can be added. Payment is made via PayPal. You can pay per PayPal with Creditcard or per bank transfer also.

Has’nt this been done before!?

Yes you are almost right, that was the MillionDollarHomepage. And yes the idea is not new. BUT!!! Unlike the others which have cloned the idea, you get something in return and have the chance to win a prize at Sponsor and Win. First and most important of all it is about keeping the services available, so that all Internet user can profit from using them.

What does it cost?

The pixelblocks will each be sold at 10×10 pixel. Each Pixesl kosts 0,10€. So a Block will cost 10€. Each Block will be displayed for at least 100 days. Each Pixel represents one raffle ticket. So the more Pixel you have, the more raffel tickets you have got. Every ticket has the chance of winning in more than one draw.

What can i win?

Amongst the aktive sponsors, prizes will be raffled off, the worth depending on the subtotal of tickets sold at the time.

Draws will take place when the subtotal has reached:

• 100€ - Prizes: 1 bread roll, 1 packet fruitgumms, 1 dummy
• 1000€- Prizes: 1 musik CD, 1 DVD, 1 Blueray The prizes will be originals, not self burnt
• 5000€ - Prizes: 1 Monitor, 1 Digital Camera, 1 xBox 360 Arcade
• 10000€ - Prizes: 1 TV, 1 Netbook, 1 Playstation 3

There will of course be more draws, but more to that later.

And the webmaster?

We have a refer system which registers what site the user has come from to Sponsor win. The active sponsers are alocatet to the webmaster this way. Whenever there is a draw for the sponsors, there will also be a reward for the webmaster. The webmaster wo’s sponsors have bought most pixels will receive the same prize as the sponsor who has won at the time.
Amongst the rest of the webmasters who have sent active sponsors a consolation prize will be raffled off.

What do i have to do as a Webmaster?

You HAVE to do nothing But, if you support the idea, then write about it on your site or your blog. Wherever you find suitable or possible advertise and place a link for this idea. The referer is the easy option and will be tracked automatically. This will work even if you link from a profile like MySpace or Facebook. The important part is that the user comes directly from your site on to http://sponsorandwin.com/

How else can you support Sponsor and Win?

Sure, there are other things where i could do with help, Anything which aids the cause is welcome. The only thing that springs to mind at the moment is, through the donation of prizes. Would’nt it be great if the prizes would be of high value, this would encourage more user to participate which would then again help all in the end.

It is about time that i introduce the new “Web 2.0 Background Generator” ;-)With this Generator you can create your own real Web 2.0 backgrounds. For boxes with so called “rounded corners” or entire page backgrounds without edge. Just as with the Logo Creatr there are loads of possible adjustments, which are mainly self explaining, but i would like to mention just a few.

Of course you can decide how high and how wide the Image should be.

Each corner of a box can be adjusted individual either with or without rounded corner.

If you choose the option “rounded corner” for one corner, you can select how high and how wide this curve should be.

You can allocate an edge for the box/image and decide how wide this edge should be.

You can allocate a colour to the edge or choose a colour graduation which can be selected/mixed from up to 10 colours.

You can alocate a colour to your image, or choose a colour graduation which can be selected/mixed from up to 10 colours.

There is a pre set box from where you can select a template, which you can alter to your own taste and idea.

With the link “Save Image” your background image will be saved on your computer.

With the link “Permanen Link” you can save the setting in the Bookmarks or wherever else you administer your links.

You can also pass on the “Permanent Link”, so that others can work on or with the image.

Limitations:

You can not and should not “hotlink” the Image. As we have found out with Logo Creatr, it is a huge effort to seperate the Logos which have been directly linked from the other Logos without deleting them accidently.

At them moment you CAN NOT use the background for the Logo Creatr. But the accent lies on NOT YET.

The limitation of 10 colours of the colour graduation is just a safety measure at the moment. I dont know how a larger selection would possibly affect the system resources. If necessary it will be altered in time. I have achieved very nice results with the 10 available colours as you can see by the examples.

There is no “Hall of Fame” for the backgrounds. I offer each user the posibility to send me his “Permanent Link” of the generated background or you can post it as comment. I can then place into the Pre set list if wanted.

So, there is no more to say at the moment, except maybe………………………..

Well since im at it

The Dino cant be missing. In oposite to the original, the shadow is a little softer, and it also seems to me, even if the font is called “yahoo” there is not necessarly Yahoo in it. But you come close to it. AND this should not be a Logo copying station, this should just be a small sugestion for your own Logo.

Even if the Yahoofont (which is realy called so ) is given, you can still choose other fonts, and you can specify the background colour and if required, insert a button. A mirror effect is not planned.

Of course the Big player can not be missing. So here is a Logo with the typical Google colours and the Font “Catull”, which is not called Gogglefont or similar which some people asume.

This Logo is not quite as easy to handle, as it requires the colours to be defined singular. Maybe, just have a look in the help, and practise intensive with the colourtags. With a little exersise you will get there.

With this Logo you can choose the Font, change the Background colour, and insert a button. Mirror is at this moment in time not posible.

And another Logo design finished.

For this design, there are a few more options. Especially the back colour and back colour 2 are brand new. With these colours, the colouring of the stripes in the background are specified. Another improvement is, that the Web 2.0 Button now has gotten a realistic shadow. This will aslo be added soon to the Logo Typ 1.

Tip: It is possble to create the background single coloured with the back colours. You just have to enter the same colour twice . The only disadvantage with this is, the mirror efect does not look so good. (but that is my personal opinion )

Today we have a new Logo Type. The options are limited, since i think that this type of Logo only looks noble and elegant in grey and in serifen writing.

To choose this type for your Logos, you only have to click on the small preview.

In the Hall of Fame, the last generated Web 2.0 Logo´s will be shown. Like this you may be able to get some ideas. If you have already closed the Form and are unable to copy the Logo, then you are still able to find it for some time in the Hall of Fame.

Surely it is not one of the graetest challenges to create a Logo in Web 2.0 stile with Photoshop, (at least not for me .But it requires some time. And since i prefere working on scripts, rather than spending my time using Photoshop to play Picasso, i have taken some of my precious time to create a Generator for Web 2.0 Logos.

The idea is surely not new, but somehow just that feature that i wanted, or needed did not work bei the one i had tried out, or the Creator wich i had bookmarked in anticipation only a few weeks ago, is suddenly no longer available.

And like always, if i like an idea, but the offered service or the technology does not work, i sit down and write the program myself.

And today i have finished it - My Web 2.0 Logo Generator.
